What is an ESKOM rebate and how can I benefit from it? |

- Eskom currently has a number of demand side energy management programmes to reduce electricity demand on the grid. One such initiative is the rebated Solar initiative for Eskom customers.
- The South African Eskom rebate scheme is a factored Rand co-efficient of a SWH systems' efficiency i.e. the more heat it produces the more money you get back. Green Power currently has the highest rebates for a 150L system in South Africa and second highest for the 200L system.
- Only certified SABS approved suppliers, of which Green Power is one, can pass on the ESKOM rebate to its customers.
- For example, Green Power's SPA series on a 150L Geyser has an Eskom rebate of R8242 which is the highest in the country as of today! This indicates that Green Power's SPA series has the highest' bang for buck' with more heat energy produced than any other system in SA according to SABS testing. The rebate scheme can also be applied to larger industrial solar projects e.g. boilers for a hotel.
When you buy a Green Power system, as a value added service, we submit the rebate forms on your behalf and help you claim the rebate, however you will need the following documents ready on the date of installation:
- Copy of your ID
- Proof of address
- Copy of your electricity bill and/or pre-paid meter no
- Sign the rebate form on the date of installation
- Bank account details – the rebate monies are paid directly back into YOUR bank account
- PLEASE NOTE: The full amount for the system has to be paid for and proof has to be given to Eskom before the rebate monies are paid back to you.
If all is in order, the rebate monies are paid back to you within a month!
