What we stand for:

 

We started Green Power about 6 years ago in George, South Africa, before energy in SA was a buzz word. We now employ more than 20 people and this is what we stand for:

1. Solutions driven - if we don’t have what you need or want, we can design it for you.
2. Partnership – we support and develop our partners working together to find a solution.
3. Holistic approach - we look at energy and water in combination as the 2 are mutually inclusive.
4. Corporate social responsibility - as a company we have partnered with environmental partners looking to plant trees as well as those less fortunate to give back where we can.
5. Under promise and over deliver – Solar, heat pumps, lighting or whatever product intervention does save you money, however correct expectations need to be set and the right solution delivered for your needs. This is drummed into our sales consultants from the start.

 

Why is Green Power Different?

1. We don’t product push as we use a variety of suppliers.
2. Our focus is energy and we can start the reduction process from a “cradle to grave” approach starting with an energy audit.
3. Unlike most renewable energy companies we have been around for more than 5 years i.e. we can back up our warranties!

Meet the team:

 

Green Power is driven by a group of environmentally aware people who are dedicated to providing highly energy efficient solutions for home and business needs. We are immensely proud that 2 of our Directors are on the Sustainable Energy Society of South Africa (SESSA) boards. Anthony is the secretary for the main SESSA council and Vincent is the secretary of the Solar SESSA council. This speaks volumes of our credibility.

Management:

Vincent Davis - [Technical Director] One of the founders of Green Power. Has a degree in marketing from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan university, Vincent heads up product development and sales in the Gauteng region.

Alistair Davis - [Sales and Marketing Director] Alistair has responsibility for Sales and Marketing within the company having earned his degree from the European Marketing Confederation. Having worked abroad for 10 years in Ireland, South America and the UK, Alistair is primarily focused on enhancing the value Green Power delivers to its customers.

Anthony Burns - [Operations Director] Anthony has a degree in Social Science from UCT. He worked in Europe for 3 years and then worked for the Human Sciences Researched Council for 5 years. He joined Green Power in 2008.He is primarily focused on Operations and making sure the Green Power machine runs smoothly. He is driven by customer excellence in service.

Ross Matthews – [Financial Manager] Ross has performed corporate finance and strategic advisory services for clients including the formation of Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) consortia to acquire assets, structuring and raising new and/or replacement capital, introducing operational and/or technical partners, evaluating investment company portfolios, developing strategies to extract value from the existing portfolios and assisting in executing those strategies. 

In South Africa, he has worked within the investment banking industry where he was responsible for sourcing, advising and structuring transactions as well as within the listed corporate environment where he was responsible for advising business unit leaders on how best to extract value from their business units.  In addition he has assisted in restructuring large, complex groups of companies.  Ross has also worked in London and New York within the consulting and corporate advisory functions of Ernst & Young and Standard New York. 

Ross has a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA).  He has also been awarded a Master of Business Administration degree from the Wits Business School.

 

SOLAR SALES PEOPLE REQUIRED:

Green Power is urgently looking for Sales Consultants to sell our unique brand of energy saving solutions in Gauteng to residential and commercial clients. This is a SALES role and if you have no prior solar experience, we will train you.

We are looking for passion, hunger and a willingness to learn. We are a fast growing company of young, dynamic, eco-friendly people looking to make a difference whilst not ignoring the fact that we are a business that needs to make profit!

Qualifications:

1. Bilingual
2. MS Office literate - PC skills ESSENTIAL
3. University of professional qualification graduate
4. Own transport
5. Track record in sales
